On this page I would like to introduce you to my Guide Dogs, Just click on one of their photographs to visit their page and find out all about their life as a Guide Dog.
I trained with my first Guide Dog, Olga a German Sheperd, in May 1988. She retired in 1995 after giving me seven years of pleasure and independence. I retrained with Jasper, a Boarder Colli cross retriever, but unfortunaitly he was retired after only 14 months because he was a little agressive toward other dogs.

Because of jasper's unforseen retirement I was without a Guide dog for about five months, and it was hell. The long cane is good, but nothing compared to working with our faithful four legged friends. In September 1996 I got a phone call from the Nottingham training centre telling me that they had got a Germen Sheperd who would just suit my needs.

At the end of November I went on class with Earl, a 17 month old German Sheperd. Early dog worked until 2005 when he retired and went to live with some friends from college.

In May 2005 I trained with my present Guide Dog, Dale. Dale is a jet black Germen Sheperd cross retriever with very large floppy ears. He is totally daft but a very good worker and a bundle of fun to be with.
